ABOUT IKO
I'm a graphic designer/art director and printmaking artist in Chicago. I was born and raised in Japan, and originally came here as a student, planning to stay just for 1-2 years to study English, but I ended up staying for a long time. Now I have my own family, work, friends here and Chicago seems to be my home.
BACKGROUND
I'm currently working for Point B Communications as an Art Director. I also do some freelance work as a designer/art director on the side.
I have degrees from the following schools:
• Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, an honors Student, Columbia College Chicago, 2000.
• Associate Degree in Commercial Art, an Honors Student, Harold Washington College, 1998

When I was a student, I received:
1997-98 Academic Excellence Scholarship from Harold Washington College.
For my personal life, I have run 6 Marathons and got qualified for Boston Marathon in 2009.
